8-year-old shot in the Bronx
Police say two men are in custody after an 8-year-old was shot in the Bronx on Tuesday.
NEW YORK - Police are investigating after an 8-year-old boy was shot in the Bronx on Tuesday.
According to authorities, the shooting happened around 5 p.m. near Beekman Avenue.
The child was getting off a school bus to meet his grandmother. As he was getting off the bus, gunshots rang out and the boy was shot in the thigh.
The child was rushed to Lincoln Hospital and is in stable condition.
Police say they currently have two men in custody.
The reason for the shooting is not yet known, and an investigation is ongoing.
