7-month-old boy gets donor heart

An ailing 7-month-old boy from Alaska came back from the brink got a second chance on life after getting a heart transplant, according to InsideEdition.com.

Lincoln Seay, of Anchorage, was very close to deaths when a donor heart finally became available at Seattle Children's Hospital.

"It was a fear I've never experienced." Robert Seay, baby Lincoln's father, told InsideEdition.com.

Lincoln went into cardiac arrest in the OR before the donor heart hadn't arrived yet, but surgeons went ahead and began the operation.

Amazingly, the operation was a success. Lincoln remains in the ICU. InsideEdition.com reported that the next three months will be crucial.

Lincoln was born with several congenital heart defects. The family knew at about 20 weeks into mom Mindy's pregnancy that he would face severe health challenges and life-threatening conditions.
