5 rescued after boat fire off Long Island

LONG ISLAND - Five people are recovering after what appears to have been some kind of boat explosion or fire on Long Island.

Video shows black smoke rising from the water off of Kings Point.

Authorities say the incident happened around 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon. 

Five people were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

It is currently unknown if there was an explosion or if the boat simply caught fire.
