3 year-old wanders from daycare, goes home

Nobody at a New Jersey day care center noticed when a 3-year-old boy wandered off and walked home alone, his mother said. Yomara Ortiz said her son Dariell left Kinderworld, crossed a busy street and walked a block-and-a-half home. Luckily, his older sister was home at the time, and she heard him knocking.

“It’s just not right that, you know, any kid could just walk out the school without being noticed,” Ortiz said.

The child’s mother said that the day care told her that this wouldn’t happen again. She told the day care’s director, “I know it won’t ‘cause he’s not coming back.”
