2 teens arrested in Indonesian Consulate robbery

David Rivera, 18, and Tyana Nunes, 16, of Yates Ave. in the Bronx, are accused of burglarizing the consulate of Indonesia on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Rivera and Nunes were seen on security camera video on Monday, August 22, stealing six bottles of Greg Goose vodka, a suitcase full of clothing, a Samsung tablet and keys to a van, said police.

The pair were taken into custody on Tuesday, August 23, at the Residence Inn hotel on Eastchester Rd. in the Bronx where they had been identified by hotel security from a burglary at the hotel on August 21.

During the arrest, Rivera attempted to bribe the officers with US currency, alcohol and the stolen van, according to the NYPD.

The duo is being charged in both the hotel burglary and the consulate burglary.

Those charges include burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, pettit larceny, criminal trespass and bribery.
