MORRISVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — Two students from Colgate University have been killed after their plane crashed in a wooded area in rural upstate New York. University officials have identified the students as freshmen Cathryn "Carey" Depuy and Ryan Adams, both 19-years-old and from Ridgefield, Connecticut.
The two had just left Hamilton Municipal Airport when their single-engine plane went down in Morrisville. It happened about 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
Colgate officials have postponed or canceled some of Monday's campus events and are making counseling available. A community vigil has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday.
