16-year-old shot and killed, another teen injured on Lower East Side
NEW YORK - Yet another teenager became the victim of gun violence on New York City's streets Friday evening when a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed on the Lower East Side Friday evening.
According to authorities, the victim was pronounced dead after being found near the intersection of Delancey Street and Suffolk Street around 8:30 p.m.
Another male also believed to be a teenager was shot but is expected to survive.

The victim has not yet been identified and police are still investigating the incident.
Through Oct. 10, 19 kids age 17 and younger have died in shootings in New York City this year — up from seven over the same period in 2020. In the same period in 2019, three children were fatally shot.
