Vanilla Ice, the rapper whose 1990 single "Ice Ice Baby" was the first hip-hop song to rocket to the top of the Billboard charts, was a passenger on board the Emirates jetliner that was quarantined at Kennedy Airport on Wednesday.

"So I just landed in New York coming back from Dubai and now I'm stuck on the runway with like 1000 police, ambulances, fire trucks, this is crazy," he posted with a video on Facebook.

The CDC, airport crews, medics, and police responded to Emirates Flight EK203 Wednesday morning because of reports of dozens of passengers feeling ill with symptoms including coughing and fever.

"This is crazy. Apparently there is over 100 people sick on the bottom floor, so happy I'm up top, it's a double-decker plane 380," Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, tweeted, referring to an Airbus A380, a four-engine, wide-bodied, double-decked airliner that can carry more than 500 people.

His manager confirmed to the AP that he was on the plane.
