Suspect charged with firing at Manhattan building

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - Police in New York arrested a suspect in connection with gunshots fired at a Manhattan high-rise apartment building from the other side of the river.

Authorities said Farris Koroma, 22, walked into a police precinct with an attorney early Friday. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief.

Koroma was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court Friday evening. He pled not guilty. A judge then released him on $100,000 bail.

A $2,500 reward was being offered for information in connection with the case.

The NYPD released a video that appears to show one of the shootings. The video shows a man, believed to be Koroma, and woman walking along the shore of Roosevelt Island. The video shows the pair stopping and then an apparent flash of a gun firing.

Bullets hit two apartment windows in separate incidents. The first shooting at One East River Place at 72nd Street and the FDR Drive took place overnight last Thursday into Friday. The tenant awoke to glass strewn across the living-room floor and a .38-caliber bullet.

The second occurred Friday into Saturday but no bullet was immediately found.
