Woman attacks man with chair at McDonald's in hate crime attack, cops say

A woman attacked a man with a chair at a Manhattan McDonald's in what police are calling a hate crime attack.

It happened about 10:30 a.m. on March 25, 2019 at the McDonald's on Canal Street in Lower Manhattan.

Police say 33-year-old man was sitting inside the restaurant when the woman started making anti-Hispanic statements at the victim.  Police say she then picked up a chair and hit the man in the face with the chair.

Police say she ran out and went into the nearby Canal Street train station but was unable to get past the turnstile.   The victim was taken to the New York- Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital for injuries to his face.

The NYPD released images of the suspect taken in the subway station.  She is described as a white,  approximately 35-45 years-old, 5’2”, 180 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a tan jacket, black pants and black and white sneakers.
