Man steals pricey guitars from church
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - A man walked into a church in Queens and walked out with two Gibson guitars, according to police.
Security camera footage shows the man acting strangely inside St. Gerard Majella Church in Hollis at about 1 p.m. on Oct. 30.
The man is then seen going into a room behind the altar and walk out with at least one of the guitars.
The church pastor implored anyone with information about the man to come forward.
"He acted inappropriately and, before leaving, he took guitars from our music ministry that we will now have to pay to replace."
Gibson guitars cost several thousands of dollars.
Police describe the suspect as Hispanic, mid-twenties, 5 feet ten inches tall, 170 lbs. with black hair.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray pants, black cap, carrying a blue book bag.
