PHOENIX (FOX 10) - Firefighters have freed a man who was trapped in an 18-inch drain pipe in Phoenix.

According to Capt. Danny Gile with the Phoenix Fire Department, the man was stuck in a pipe near 67th Avenue and Indian School.

Firefighters were able to access the nearest manhole to the man and after placing a ladder down it, the man was able to crawl out on his own.

He was not injured.

Firefighters say it's unclear how the man got into the pipe and how long he was in the drainage system.
