NYPD seeks tips in Brooklyn teen's murder

A vigil continues to grow outside the building in the Cypress Hill Houses in Brooklyn where 16-year-old Justin Richey lived with his family until he was gunned down a few blocks away on Sunday evening.

Most residents were too terrified to show their faces on camera, including a neighbor who wanted Fox 5 to know she knew Justin since he was a toddler and that she is devastated.

The NYPD said there was some type of argument involving three other males near Pine Street and Blake Avenue. One pulled out a gun pumped at least four bullets into Justin, hitting him in the chest, back, stomach, and ribs. Detectives are not ready to say a gang may have been trying to pressure the teen with no criminal record into gang activity.

But his neighbor would not be surprised.

So far, police have not made any arrests. But they do describe one suspect as wearing a red T-shirt and gray sweatpants. If you have any information, police would like you to call Crime Stoppers 800-577-TIPS.
