Arrest in string of anti-white bias attacks in NYC

A transgender woman is accused of pepper-spray bias attacks against white people.

The NYPD arrested Thomas Heard, who identifies as a woman, on Sunday in connection with an attack in the Bronx.  She allegedly approached a couple outside of her apartment on Saturday and shouted anti-white comments while dousing a man with pepper spray.

She is also being investigated in connection with a string of other attacks on strangers in Manhattan on Friday.

At about 11:50 a.m. on Friday the suspect approached a 29-year-old man on the southbound platform inside the 125 Street and Lennox Avenue '2' and '3' train subway station and sprayed him in the face before taking off out of the subway station.

The suspect then sprayed five additional victims on 125th Street including a 47-year-old man, a 48-year-old woman, 30-year-old woman, a 38-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old woman.  All of them were white and sprayed in the face.

And finally, at approximately 1 p.m. she then sprayed a seventh victim, a 30-year-old woman, in the face as she was waiting on the southbound '1' train platform inside the 96 Street and Broadway subway station.

Fox 5 News reported that Heard has 60 prior arrests, including some for prostitution and grand larceny.

The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force continues to investigate the incidents.
